I walked through an unfamiliar forest, sniffing the air thoughtfully. It had a majestic tinge to it, as all untouched forests are. It was a very welcoming place, filled with joy and friendliness. There was another scent too, darker, but not necessarily evil. I flipped my silky white head fur out of my glowing purple eyes. I looked at my birth sister, Solar. " U think the wolves that live here will let us join their pack?"
Solar looked at me gently with her bright yellow eyes. " Lets find out shall we?" she trotted ahead of me and looked at the swaying tree branches.
I looked at our little sister Nightmare, who was slinking behind us and looking around nervously. She squeaks, "Where are we?"
I nuzzle here comfortingly, "were in a new forest Noghtmare." i pad ahead and wait for her to follow. Sure enough, in her little, light, nervous steps she followed. I look at Solar, who is already 30 paw steps ahead. "Wait for us!" i call to her. I nudge Nightmare firmly with my nose and bound ahead.
The dry, fall leaves crunched under my paws. I stopped right next to Solar and I nudged her gently. She looked at me, her eyes happy and light. " What is it?" she asked.
I whined, " what would happen if they accepted you and me" looks at nightmare, " but not our little sister?" Solar glared at me, bright yellow eyes glinting angrily. She whispered menacingly in my ear, " If that happens, i will trade u for her!" she growled and continued walking.
I shook my head in disgust, " How stupid of me!" i thought. " that would never ever happen."
I walk with my head down, and think of what could happen. Will they like us? Will they chase us off? Suddenly i heard deep snarling. I ran to Nightmare to protect her. The snarls came closer and closer, creeping upon us like a hunter. I stood pressed against Nightmares blue black fur, paralysed.
Solars eyes widened and she growled, " who are you?" i stood in shock and i shivered like a newborn pup. The bushes rustled. I didnt know if it was real or my fear, but the sky slowly was turning blood red. The rustling bevam louder and louder, and the sky turned into a messy flow or dark blood. My heart pounded in my paws and i whined. Even the trees seemed hostile, branches trying to maime us. A dark wolf appeared out of the bushes, and he bared his blood stained fangs. Terrified, I thought it was wolf blood. I turned to the defensive, rolling over submissively. Nighttmare joined me and shuddered on the ground next to me. The dark wolf locked his gaze to me for a moment. That second, I seemed nude, my secrets pouring out of my soul and into his brain. I felt so weak, so bare, i whined and looked away.
He turned around and faced Solar. " What are you doing on my packs territory?" he growled.
"We were.... We were looking to join the pack!" she spat.
"Not before I kill you!" he snarled and charged. Solar and him fought, biting and pouncing on each other. Solar managed toget on top of him and hold him down,snarling. But he was an experienced fighter. He twisted and rolled over her. He jumpedon her and snarled, teeth glistening red. Solars eyes were wide with anger and fear. The whole world seemed to bleed scarlet...........
Another wolf jumped out of the bushes. " Thats enough Shadowpaw." our attacker got away from Solar and snarled. Solar snarled back and bared her teeth. The wolf that appeared out of the bushes looked at Solar, then at me, " Im sorry for this.," the wolf looked at our attacker, "hes a bit.... Hostile."
I looked at Nightmare, who was still on her back. "get up" i whispered. She stood up warily, crouching down as if she was about to be bit. I loked at the wolf, who i realized was a she wolf with long, golden brown fur.
Solar snapped, " Hostile? HOSTILE? The guy tried to kill us!"
The she-wolf looked at Solar sternly, "you were on our territory uninvited." she snaps at Shadowpaw " But you dont hurt wolves on site mister."
That shadowpaw guy grumbles and walked away into the bushes. I observed the she-wolf more closely. She was standing straight and tall, head erect and proud, chest puffed out in a way that looks serious and demanding respect. I could tell she was the Kaskaess of the pack that lived here, the pack we wanted to become part of.She looked at me and Nighmare softly. " theres no need to be afraid, i wont hurt you.
i smiled. "we were...- trying to join the pack?"
the kaskaess inteurrupted. She looked amused, yet her voice sounded serious, " you must see my pack, they will help me decide" She flicked her ear dismissively and leaped in to the bushes.
Nightmare, Solar and I stood frozen for a moment, trying to process what happend. Solar shook her head, and jumped into the

Nightmare, Solar and I stood frozen for a moment, trying to process what happend. Solar shook her head, and jumped into the bushes with her.I looked at Nightmare, "coming?"
Nightmare though for a moment, then nodded. I smiled and nudges her. "come on."
I jumped in the bushes and ran after Solar and the Kaskaess. I was relieved to hear Nightmares light steps behing me. I sniffed the air and followed Solars scent. I pointed ,my nose up again and their were many other wolves, at least 10. I trembled with anticipation. So many wolves! I bound ahead, catching up to solar. Nightshade was following steadily. I looked at Solar, whos tongue was lolling about. I laughed and kept on running.
When the Kaskaess started to slow down, i knew we were very close. I tried to stay calm, but i was so excited, i yipped. Nigthmare smiled softly and was sticking between me and Solar like moss to a rock.I looked at the kaskaess, who was leading us to her home. She looked at us and turned to look at us, akwardly padding backwards like a duck. " by the way, young ones, i am Imala." she nodded, then turned around swiftly to guide us again.
By now, the world had become majestic and unfamiliar again, trees swaying unexpectedly, wind blowing at ground becoming firmer then looser with every pawstep. Solar and Nightmare didnt seem to understand this, lost in their own petty thoughts. Kaskaess Imala stopped at a large, wall like bush that blocked the rest of our path. She sat down and thought to herself. Strangely, i could hear her, faint chanting in the back of my head played. Then, unexpectantly, sh howled. If i didnt concentrate, it wouldve sounded like a normal howl.But i did, and the sound, no the music, was beautiful. The song was flowing and flying through the air like the wind. I closed my eyes and enjoyed it for the moment.
Then when i opened my eyes, the bushes were cleared and a narrow pathway was revealed. Solar and Nightmare stared indifferently at kaskaess Imala then at the path. "Well?" she padded onward and my sister dissapeared after her.
I shook my fur and proceeded onward. I didnt look back, but i knew the branches were slowly closing back into a wall.
When we finally emerged, i looked around in awe. There center territory was huge! There were rivers and trees with delicate flowers, deep woods for hunting, and most of all, wolves. They came in a whole variety, young, old, fat, sleek, strong, skinny, hostile, nice, short haired, long haired, and in all different colors. I felt almost overwhelmed by the sight of it. Nightmare looked sick and sticked close to Solar. Solar herself looked on alert, but i could see her fear.
In our puphood, we were never around to many wolves. We came across them frequently, but we stayed as clear of them as possible. Our mother, Angeni, was a lone wolf. She didnt like the company of other wolves very much. We were taught as pups that many wolves could be extremely dangerous and you should stay clear of a pack.
I Snapped the memories to the back of my head and focused on the wolves, who were staring at us. Some looked funny though, there backs distorted. They alll gathered around us, whispering, and some growling.I tried to stand tall and brave, but i crouched a little, afraid.
Kaskaess Imala announced clearly, " these young wolves wish to join our pack. I want help from all of you,to help me decide."
I looked at kaskaess Imala, who was looking at her pack, calmly, and not paying much attention to us. I heard growls from the crowd, as well as from Solar. I knew she wasnt mad at the pack, but at kaskaess Imala for refering to us as "young wolves." She could call Nightmare young, sure she was barely above a year old, but we were already two (almost three if you ask Solar) well into our teenage years. I looked around as relaxed as posssible, registering our hostile situatio
Then the kaskaess continued, "we will have a battle, one of you against one of them, and see if their worthy of joining our pack." I gasped and my eyes widened. Nightmare surprisingly spoke out, "excuse me, but we dont fight. Please, were not fighters." Many wolves spoke, some seemed angry, others, murmured agreement. Kaskaess Imala nodded. "Very well, we will see if you three can hunt effectively. Go into the deep woods, you have 3 days to catch 3 deers and 4 squirrels. Your time starts NOW!"
CHAPTER 2
I was standing there, utterly confused. 3 deer and 4 squirrels in three days? Were lucky to find that much in 3 months! Solar and znightm
